In one hand he holds a beautiful music box from the Erzgebirge and in the other a burlap sack with presents. If you look closely you can see a children's spinning top and a small nutcracker peeping out of the bag. A small rocking horse ornament is attached to the string with which the gift pouch is tied shut.
