A beautiful and intricately carved wooden sculpture, this statue of St. Albert holding a very large quill pen in the form of a staff with a silver leaf design at its top is hand carved from maple wood and painted with oil based paint in a beautiful variety of blended and lightly textured colors. The design also features gold plated accents painted along the edges of many of the lines throughout the sculpture. From his calm, thoughtful expression and ornate bishop’s outfit complete with his mitre hat, crucifix medallion and volumes of ancient texts at his feet, this sculpture is an amazingly lifelike representation of Albert of Lauingen.
