This vintage style sign features an ad for Pilsner Urquell, a famous Czech Pilsner. In addition to its superb taste and excellent quality, Pilsner Urquell has the distinction of being the first pilsner ever invented. In fact, the Bohemian town of Pilsen where the beer is brewed is where the name pilsner was derived. Depicted on the sign are two beautiful, young ladies pouring beers straight from the keg for service. They are using large glass mugs which is actually an important feature. The invention of pilsners coincided with lower glass prices. This allowed for wider usage of glass vessels which showcased the new beer's beautiful golden color, and added to its popularity.
