When viewing a Black Forest Chalet style cuckoo clock, the delight is in its colors and figurines and this cuckoo clock is no exception. The movement begins as a traditional Black Forest water wheel begins to spin. The painted blue accents on the tips of the wheel blades are just one example of this cuckoo clock’s fine attention to detail. A pair of children slowly turns their heads to kiss in time to the music, framing the clock face between their movements and the movement of the wheel as a small, grey cat in a wooden wagon looks on. The base of the clock is flanked by a hay shed and a wood shed respectively, which serves to further balance the design.
