This charming battery-operated clock is perfect for train loving enthusiasts! Beneath the gabled roof of the wooded chalet, the cuckoo bird emerges from its door atop a decorative balcony. Wooden “X” carvings dot the base of the veranda, as a sign hangs in the center proclaiming “Schwarzwaldbahn” (Black Forest Train.) Below, quaint curtained windows dot the front and sides of the cottage, decorated with red shutters and floral boxes.
On one side of the clock, the chalet’s namesake spins atop an elevated platform to the timepiece’s music. A wooden locomotive carrying two train cars encircles a small fir tree, covered beneath the shelter of the extended sloping chalet roof. The raised terrace is surrounded by a wooden fence accented with a carved alternating pattern of heart and diamond shapes.
Around the center of the clock, an old wooden water pump is situated over a small patch of grass, alongside the timepiece’s dial. Meanwhile on the opposite end of the base, a trio of sheep congregate amongst a small cluster of trees. One lies upon the ground, while the other two stand and graze on the grass nearby. The woodland scene is further enhanced with the intricate details of a stack of wooden logs, toadstools, and small rocks.
