The centerpiece of the scene is a rare Black Forest Horse, or Schwartzwälder Kaltblut, shown pulling a heavy sledge of logs for his master, the woodsman. Hand-painted in deep brown with a lighter mane and tail, the horse symbolizes strength and endurance. The woodsman stands behind the sledge with tools of his trade, ready to prepare the logs stacked neatly by the farmhouse wall. Every detail, from the axe embedded in the log pile to the gravel and moss at the horse’s feet, enhances the realism of the scene. On the opposite side, a gently turning mill wheel and dark green pine trees frame the chalet, with a small rabbit nestled among the woodland details.
The chalet case is finished in a dark rustic stain, accented by bright red shutters, a textured carved base, and a hand-shingled roof crowned with a bell tower and chimney.
