This particular chalet clock truly captures the woodland splendor of the Black Forest region! Underneath the cottage’s gabled roof, the cuckoo bird calls from its miniature door, suspended above a charming balcony. Between a pair of open green doors, dancers dressed in traditional Black Forest garb spin around merrily on the balcony, waltzing to the charming melodies of the clock’s music box. The trim on the roof’s underside and balcony are accented with an exquisitely carved design.
The chalet’s appearance itself features an array of quaint details, such as a wooden plank front, green shuttered windows, and decorative floral boxes. Alongside the one end of the chalet, a miniature waterwheel spins along lazily as the timepiece plays its music upon the hour. Decorating the wheel’s surroundings, a rustic fence stands, as piles of wooden logs lie around dispersed upon the ground.
Along the base of the clock, a tableau of nature highlights the rustic home within its woodland environment. Clusters of tall fir decorate both ends of the chalet, as a deer stands amongst the forest foliage. Further complimenting the scene are the details of a water bucket, rocks, brush, and other greenery.
More intricacies can also be found along the sides of the chalet, nestled between the border of the trees. On the left side, a worn wooden bench is settled amongst the flora, sitting atop a cluster of pebbles. On the opposite end of the timepiece, an open glade rests behind the cluster of trees. In the small clearing, stands an old water pump with a wooden trough underneath.
