This chalet cuckoo clock is a true dancer’s delight! Minute details of miniature stones dot the sloping gable and sides of the cottage roof. Beneath the cuckoo bird, dancers waltz in time to the timepiece’s music box, spinning around through the terrace’s open doorways. The balcony itself is decorated in a festive air, painted with a pattern of vividly colored flowers, and floral bouquet arrangements hanging from the ledge. An ornate wooden trim hangs from opposite ends on the underside of the roof, painted in the same repeating floral pattern to compliment the balcony.
Below, the base of the chalet is bustling with festive activities that wrap around to the sides of the cottage. In front of the clock’s dial, a quartet of dancers dressed in traditional Black Forest attire sway from side to side to the music of the timepiece. They are complimented by the intricate details of a floral bedecked wooden fence in front of them, and green shuttered windows behind, flanking on opposite sides of the clock face.
On the far end of the chalet, a waterwheel is housed beneath a small sloping roof, surrounded by fir trees and a stack of chopped logs. As the music box plays, the waterwheel spins leisurely along to the melody. At the opposite end of the clock base, a woman wearing a Bollenhut and dressed in traditional Black Forest attire stands atop a raised porch. She pulls upon a rope tied to the bell tower atop the chalet’s roof, ringing the bell in time to the cuckoo bird’s calls. The terrace she stands upon is covered by a stone wall, accentuated with floral bouquets and small fir trees on either side.
