Shepherd with Stick (#10) is a lively and expressive figure from the ANRI Bernardi Nativity collection, designed by renowned South Tyrolean sculptor Ulrich Bernardi. This figure captures the alert and observant spirit of the shepherds who were among the first to witness the Nativity.

The shepherd strides forward with confidence, raising one hand to shield his eyes as he looks into the distance, as if searching the hills or watching over his flock. In his other hand he holds a sturdy shepherd’s staff, while a small water vessel hangs at his side, emphasizing the rugged life of a traveler and caretaker of animals.

He wears a flowing reddish robe and a blue cap, with detailed folds that create movement and realism typical of Bernardi’s sculptural style. His forward posture and attentive expression give the figure a sense of purpose and energy within the Nativity scene.
