St. Florian Statue
- Hand carved maple wood
- Hand painted with gold accents
- Handmade in South Tyrol
- 5.9 inches
A beautiful and intricately carved wooden sculpture, this statue of St. Florian holding a bucket of water and a Roman military spear is hand carved from maple wood and painted with oil based paint in a beautiful variety of blended and lightly textured colors. The design also features gold plated accents painted throughout the inner areas of the cloak and along the edges of many of the lines throughout the sculpture. From his calm, peaceful expression and ornate Roman military uniform with a red cloak, his spear and his bucket of water in hand, this sculpture is an amazingly lifelike representation of St. Florian. He is shown standing over a burning building as he pours his bucket of water onto the building to put out the fire in reference to his role in a firefighting unit of the Roman military.
