This vintage style advertisement features the famous Bavarian beer, Löwenbräu. Brewed to the exacting standards of the German Beer Purity Law, Löwenbräu has been a staple in Bavaria since its founding in the 1300's. The Löwenbräu Lion, the advertisement's most striking element, was chosen due to a fresco within the brewing house depicting Daniel in the lion's den. The large, golden lion is dressed in Bavarian costume and sits perched upon a barrel of fine Löwenbräu Oktoberfest brew. The equally famous Löwenbräu beer tent can be seen behind him. The lion holds a bold, red balloon which provides a striking counterpoint to the blue hues that dominate the rest of the scene.
