This beautiful, German, decorative wooden weatherhouse is a charming example of the traditional German folk art device, the weather house. This clever device reports the temperature and humidity in a fun and unique way. When the weather is dry, the Black Forest woman figure comes out to stand in front of the house and enjoy the nice day and when the weather is humid the Black forest man figure comes out to brave the tough day. The weather house features a traditional chalet house with a Black Forest woman in a traditional dirndl dress and a Black Forest man wearing rain gear and holding an umbrella.
