This lovely chalet style clock showcases a festive mood and merry woodland air. The sloping roof of the cottage is constructed with rustic shingles, while on the opposite ends small, windowed gables emerge with their miniature green shutters open wide. On the right side of the roof towards the back, an old wooden chimney emerges behind one of the gabled windows.
Beneath the front gable of the chalet, the cuckoo bird emerges from its door, overlooking a long balcony that wraps to the far sides of the clock. Through the open entryway, couples twirl in a circle to the clock’s music box, as they are flanked on opposite ends by the ajar wooden doors and charming windows decorated with floral boxes and green shutters.
Below, the chalet’s appearance itself features an array of quaint details, including a wooden plank front with the decoratively shuttered windows surrounding the clock face. Along the base of the timepiece, a waterwheel spins leisurely to the sounds of the clock’s music box melody. Surrounding the wheel, details of the forested atmosphere abound – a rabbit stands upon its hind legs curiously, adjacent to a wooden water pump and trough. Behind this scene, a fir tree stands along the far side of the quaint chalet.
In the center of the cottage, just beneath the clockface, a piled stack of chopped logs rests behind a country styled wooden fence. At the far end of the timepiece’s base, rests a tableau of two gentlemen seated at a table. Outfitted in traditional lederhosen and Alpine hats, the two men sit upon wooden logs for seats, as they each hold a foaming glass of beer within their hands. They toast happily, raising their glasses up and down in the air in time to the cuckoo’s calls. The scene is further accented with the minute touches of a cluster of fir trees and a water bucket resting nearby.
