This 8-day chalet clock showcases a rustic wooded farming estate, surrounded by the delightful details of its forest setting. A steeple rests on the peak of the highest gable, as a chimney tops the other end of the estate home’s roof. On the upper balcony of the intricate chalet, reside a pair of open wooden doors, flanked on either side by the quaint details of flowerpots and shuttered windows. Through the doorway, dancers spin to the lyrical strains of the clock’s music box, waltzing circularly beneath the calling cuckoo bird.

At the base of the timepiece, a charming, forested tableau surrounds the chalet. Close to the clock’s dial, a dog accompanies a traveling clock peddler in traditional Black Forest attire. The merchant carries his cuckoo clock wares upon his back, as he traverses with umbrella in hand. Behind the gentleman, a large waterwheel is affixed to the side of the farming estate’s chalet. As the music box plays, the wheel gently spins along to the dulcet tunes.

On the opposite end of the base, a boy is a about to set off on a hike, with his lunch bundle tied to a stick and slung over his shoulder. Behind him, rests a wooden trough and water pump, situated next to the rustic cottage door. Additional minute details throughout the clock base include a wooden bench, wooden fences, fir trees, piles of chopped logs, and assorted pebbles and foliage.
