A beautiful and intricately carved wooden sculpture, this statue of St. George on horseback is carved from maple wood and painted with oil based paint in a beautiful variety of blended and lightly textured colors. The design also features gold plated accents painted along the edges of many of the lines throughout the sculpture. From his bold, intense expression and ornate military uniform complete with his lance and sword, this sculpture is an amazingly lifelike representation of St. George. He is shown with his horse rearing up as he encounters a fire breathing dragon at his feet and he holds his lance in position as he prepares to slay the savage beast.
