This delightful and colorful Black Forest chalet cuckoo clock has a very unique element – a transparent glass clock dial! This feature allows the viewer to enjoy the intricate and complex inner workings of the clock movement. Portions of the façade that makes up the front of the cuckoo clock's case are cut away, leaving only the dark timbers. This reveals even more of the clock’s fascinating interior.
The design of the clock is that of a traditional Black Forest Chalet. A couple in traditional German clothes sit drinking beer, one sip for each cuckoo, at a table next to a large pile of beer barrels stacked efficiently in a shed. Perched atop the shed is a small tabby cat. He surveys the scene, like all cats, as if he is the master of all he sees. Continuing to the left past the clock dial is a quaint handcart used for transporting beer barrels. A water wheel is attached to the left hand side, which spins as the music plays. The blue detailing on the tips of the blades demonstrates this clock’s attention to small details. The cuckoo clock is flanked on either side by pine trees, which mimics it being nestled deep within the Black Forest. This Chalet clock also features a hand shingled roof and dancers that will spin and twirl as the music plays.
