This Chalet cuckoo clock features two German men enjoying a refreshing afternoon drink. Starting from the left facing the clock stands a small, light brown dachshund. Stacked against the side of the house behind him is a tidy woodpile. Continuing to the right is an interesting construction with a golden top meant to resemble a fountain. The two beer drinkers are seated upon high back chairs at a rustic wooden table, enjoying the cool air from the fountain. Both men are dressed in traditional German lederhosen with dark green hats and bright white shirts. They are each holding a large, foamy beer. Behind the house to their right is a dark green pine tree with a brown trunk.
The case of the clock is finished in differing tones of brown that allow the colorful figurines to stand out to the viewer. Place around the beer drinkers’ table are dark grey blocks with gold chains that link them together. The windows on the first floor have large red shutters and red trim. One of the clock’s most unique features is that the interior chains can be seen through the windows. The second story of the clock features two protruding bay windows. Each has red shutters and colorful flower boxes. The windows are set in a symmetrical fashion on either side of the clock’s dial, which is large and easy to read.
The roof is unusual to chalet cuckoo clocks as it has a high pointed peak, rather than the typical broader style. The facing for the roof has exposed timbers arranged in an angled grid pattern with off-white stucco in-between. As with the other windows, the cuckoo door itself has red shutters. This clock’s understated colors and symmetrical design make it a true delight.
