This impressive Hunter Style cuckoo clock is a truly unique piece. The cuckoo clock’s most striking feature is its use of color in order to highlight the detailed carvings against the dark stain of the case. Starting from the bottom, a gun pouch hangs beneath a hunting horn that frames the cuckoo clock's dial. The shape and placement of the pouch serves to balance the oak leaves that are carved into the base. The leaves continue upward along the sides of the case. They are each carved at an upward facing angle that guides the eye towards the colorful carvings that dominate the center and top of the cuckoo clock.

On the left hand side, a German hunter in traditional forester gear stands with his pipe and rifle; his loyal Dachshund at his feet ready to begin the hunt. On the right hand side of the clock stands a regal Alpine Ibex, perched as if regarding the Hunter from a tall mountain peak. The top piece of the cuckoo clock continues the arrangement of upwards facing oak leaves. It flares out wider than the bottom piece, creating a dynamic composition. At the highest point on the top of the cuckoo clock stands a finely carved and richly painted European Red Stag. Rather than presenting his profile, the Stag gazes out towards the viewer as if on the verge of movement. Delicate hand carved antlers and a fine attention to detail make the Stag a quite impressive centerpiece.

The colorful carvings are arranged in a triangular pattern that guides the eye around the cuckoo clock and allows them to remain focal points, even when viewed at a distance. This cuckoo clock also features dancers that turn and spin with the music, adding yet another element of color that perfectly compliments the rest of the design.
