This particular chalet clock truly captures the woodland splendor of the Black Forest! Underneath the cottage’s gabled roof, the cuckoo bird calls from its miniature door, suspended above a charming balcony. The elevated terrace is decorated with an intricate gingerbread trim design that continues to the wooden décor that hangs on the underside of the sloping roof. Between a pair of open green doors, dancers dressed in traditional Black Forest garb spin around merrily on the balcony, waltzing to the dulcet tones of the clock’s music box.
The chalet’s appearance itself features an array of quaint details, such as a wooden plank front, green shuttered windows sporting decorative floral boxes, and a stone wall design at the bottom. Alongside the one end of the chalet, a miniature waterwheel spins along lazily as the timepiece plays its music upon the hour. At the base of the clock, a tableau of nature highlights the rustic home within its woodland surroundings. Tall fir trees stand on both sides of the chalet, as a deer grazes upon the forest foliage. Further complimenting the scene are the details of water buckets, rocks, and a pile of wooden logs.
More intricacies can also be found along the sides of the chalet, nestled between the border of the trees. On the left side, a friendly bird is perched upon one of the fir tree’s branches, as behind it a worn wooden bench sits amongst the flora. Close by, a ladder rests against the side of the cottage. On the opposite end of the timepiece, an open glade rests behind the cluster of trees. A small staircase and balcony on the side of the cottage lead to the chalet’s door, with a stack of firewood piled beneath the open steps. Adjacently, a rustic water well rests, covered with a miniature roof and a bucket sitting atop the edge of the well.
